젊고 재능 있는 한국의 피아니스트 이향윤은 서울에서 태어나 5세에 첫 피아노 레슨을 받기 시작했다. 정식 공부를 시작하기 전 이미 그녀는 고국에서 여러 청소년 콩쿠르에 입상하며 두각을 나타냈다. 2001년 그녀는 교육부로부터 교육부 장관상을 수상하였으며, 11세에 첫 독주회로 정식 데뷔 콘서트를 가졌다.
2002년부터 2003년까지 그녀는 서울시로부터 재능을 인정받아 영재로 선발되었고 교육부의 장학금을 지원받으며 선화예술학교에서 공부를 마쳤다. 그 후, 서울의 삼육대학교에서 서행철 교수를 사사하며 배움을 이어나갔다.
학사 과정 동안 그녀는 매년 장학금을 받으며 우수한 성적을 거두었다. 이후 그녀는 솔리스트로서 삼육대학교의 정기 연주회를 포함한 여러 공연을 연주하였고, 삼육대학교 오케스트라와 협연하며 활발히 연주 활동을 하였다. 2008년 이후, 피아니스트 이향윤은 앙드레 마르샹 교수 등 여러 마스터 클래스에 참석하며 배움을 이어나갔고 이 후 그녀는 독일 슈투트가르트 국립음악대학에서 솔리스트로서의 피아노 석사 과정을 이어나갔다.
솔리스트 석사 과정 중 그녀는 독일 슈투트가르트 국립음악대학의 실내악홀에서의 독주회와 독일 바덴 뷔르템베르크 주 악기 전시 박물관에 초청되어 “뮤직파우제” 등을 연주하며 입지를 다졌다. 우수한 성적으로 석사 학업을 졸업한 그녀는 발레 음악 및 반주에 관심을 가지게 되었고, 이 후 독일 슈투트가르트 고티에 댄스의 공식 피아니스트로 초청받아 활동하였으며, 스위스의 베자르 발레 로잔, 슈투트가르트 발레단의 객원 피아니스트로도 활동했다. 2015년부터 현재 그녀는 독일 존 크랑코 발레학교에 소속되어 발레 피아니스트로 활동하며 전세계의 다양한 발레 워크숍에 초청 받아 활발한 활동을 이어나가고 있다.
The young, highly gifted Korean pianist Hyangyoon Lee was born in Seoul and received her first piano lessons at the age of five. Even before starting her formal studies, she won numerous youth competitions in her homeland. In addition, she was awarded a prize from the Ministry of Education in 2001. She gave her debut concert at the age of 11.
From 2002 to 2003, she was supported by the Ministry of Education through a scholarship due to her outstanding achievements, which allowed her to begin her studies at Sunwha Art School. After that, she studied under Prof. Hang-Churl Seo at Sahmyook University in Seoul.
During her bachelor's degree, she received numerous scholarships with honors. More concerts followed, including subscription concerts at Sahmyook University, where she also performed as a soloist with the Sahmyook University Orchestra. Since 2008, Hyangyoon Lee has attended numerous master classes, including with Prof. André Marchand.
She then pursued a master's degree in piano at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart.
Further performances followed, including “Musikpause” in the musical instrument collection of the State Museum at Fruchtkasten, and a recital in the chamber music hall of the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. After completing her studies, she developed an interest in ballet accompaniment and was invited to perform as the official pianist for Gauthier Dance, as well as a guest pianist for Béjart Ballet Lausanne and Stuttgart Ballet. Since 2015, she has been working as a ballet pianist at the John Cranko Ballet School, where she continues to participate in various ballet workshops.
